IMPORTANT NOTE:

The Office of State Examiner can neither accept nor process applications. You must submit your application to the civil service board where you wish to take an examination.

Please do not send your completed application to the Office of State Examiner.

The examinations for Firefighter, Police Officer, and Fire and Police Communications Officer (Legislative Session 2006) are the only examinations which can be taken in one jurisdiction for the purpose of having a score reported to another jurisdiction.  The qualification requirements may differ among some jurisdictions, so you may wish to contact the jurisdiction where you want to have your score reported in addition to the jurisdiction where you plan to take the test, in order to make sure you can meet the requirements for the application process in both jurisdictions.

Remember, whenever you’re away from your computer, you may obtain entrance Firefighter and Police Officer exam scheduling information anytime by dialing the State Examiner’s 24-hour information line at (225) 925-4567 from any touch-tone phone.
