ASSISTANT HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OR ASSISTANT CHIEF

In 1920, the first position entitled “Assistant Inspector” beneath the Chief of Police was created in May of 1920, and changed in August 1923 to Assistant Superintendent. On August 1, 1952, the title was changed to Assistant Chief and remains so this date.
