On 03-03-13 the Monroe Police Department responded to a reported hit and run incident that occurred on Interstate 20 near the Civic Center exit.
Initial investigation shows that a vehicle was struck by an 18 wheeler commercial vehicle, causing moderate damage to the passenger car. The driver of the passenger car was not injured.
The commercial vehicle left the scene and as of this date there is no description or other information available as to the identity of the driver of the commercial vehicle.
This investigation is still on going. Police urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Monroe Police at 318 329-2600.
