On 9-11-12 at 2:52pm, officers with the Monroe Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 2600 block of Lee Ave.
Detectives investigating the incident were able to determine that a neighbor dispute led to a fight with several individuals involved. During the course of the fight, one of the individuals armed himself with a firearm and a least one shot was fired.
Detectives learned that a 22 year old male had been transported to a local hospital and was being treated for a gunshot wound. The victim was reported to be in serious condition and is in surgery at this time.
Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and have a person of interest in custody.
