Arrest made in Egan Street burglary case after search warrant; recovered stolen property identified by victim.

Monroe Police Detectives executed a search warrant for 217 Egan Street and recovered items stolen in a burglary from a residence also located on Egan Street. Marcus D. Jones (DOB: 11/29/1993), 219 Egan Street, was arrested during this investigation.

The victim, who was away for a period of time, returned home on November 3rd and discovered that many large items such as a king size bed mattress and box springs, dressers, refrigerators, stove, a television set, a computer, as well as other items had been taken from the residence.

After locating the items, the victim identified the stolen property, including a personalized doormat with their name upon it.

Jones provided a statement that someone else had placed the items inside the house where the items were found and that he was the only person with a key to unlock that house.

Jones was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center for illegal possession of stolen things.
