Patch Contest Extended

MPD PATCH AND SEAL DESIGN CONTEST

MPD Shoulder Patch

The MPD shoulder patch features the year 1783 when Monroe was incorporated, as well as an image depicting a steamboat from the city's early history.

The Monroe Police Department is moving forward under our new Administration and therefore we are seeking community participation as we update our Departmental Patch. “Our Department is seeking new, fresh designs that clearly represent Monroe’s unique qualities,” Police Chief Quentin Holmes said; “and who better to ask for ideas than the community we serve?”

The winning patch design will replace the current patch that is being worn by all Monroe Police Department employees.

We will also be accepting designs for the first ever Monroe Police Department Seal.

The winner of the Patch Design and Seal Design will each receive a plaque and a meal for two at a local restaurant.

Entry Forms, which include design specifications and contest rules, can be obtained at any of the following locations: Monroe Police Department, Public Safety Center, and www.monroepd.com.

The deadline for submissions will be extended to October 3rd, 2011. The winner will be announced October 17th, 2011.

For more information or questions relating to the patch design contest, please contact Tarra Smith at the Monroe Police Department, (318)329-2641.
