This incident is under investigation by the MPD Traffic Division.
On July 20, 2011 at 9:38 PM, the Monroe Police Department worked a fatal pedestrian crash at US 165 and Hadley Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian identified as 59 year old James H. Ford was in the outside, northbound lane of US 165 when he was struck by a 2002 GMC Sonoma pickup.
Toxicology results are pending on both the driver and victim, which is standard procedure. The investigation is ongoing.
