Officers Find Bag Of Crack Cocaine; One Arrest Made

Jamichael S. Carter, arrested for possession of crack cocaine, after officers found dry bag on wet roadway where he was standing.

On Jan 25th, PFC M. Freeman placed Jamichael S. Carter under arrest for possession of CDS-II after observing him in the roadway of the 2400 block of Grammont Street.

Approximately 1.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine was found in a dry plastic bag in the roadway, although the road was wet from recent rainfall.

Officers observed that Carter’s hands had a white powdery substance consistent with crack cocaine, and that Carter attempted to wipe off this residue after pulling away from officers.

Carter was transported to Ouachita Correctional Center.
